SOCIAL MEDIA

Social Media is one of the largest parts of the Save Punisher campaign. While the petition and writing letters can make a difference, using social media is a fun and easy way to get noticed everyday.

Posting on Social Media - General Guidelines

Posting on Social Media is just as important as signing & sharing the petition. Below are some general guidelines for posting on social media and how to do it in a way that helps the campaign.

Remember, try to post at least once a day using the official campaign hashtags & a graphic. Posting more than once is totally fine and completely up to you. Lastly, while it is awesome to retweet or share posts from the official Save Punisher accounts or someone else's accounts - this post should be completely new and written by you.

Official Campaign Hashtags:

The Campaign has chosen to use the following two hashtags:

  • #savepunisher - This is the official hashtag for the campaign. Feel free to utilize this hashtag on any social media platform as it ties directly back to the Save Punisher campaign.

  • #thepunisher - This is the hashtag most often used for the fandom as a whole. It is a great way to engage with the entire fandom and try to draw attention to what we are trying to accomplish with the campaign.

As a general rule, a post should stick to containing 2 hashtags in order to count toward total numbers.

Graphics:

Feel free to utilize any of the graphic overlay files , found on the social media Resources page, for any graphic you decide to include on a #savepunisher post. Coming Soon: Social Media graphic to download and use.

Tagging other accounts:

When creating your posts you can always tag targeted accounts in order to attraction attention to the campaign.

  • Think about tagging the following accounts: @kevfeige, @hulu, @marvelstudios, and @disney - all of these accounts relate to the goals of the official campaign.

Twitter

Occasionally, the campaign may run official tweetfests where groups of fans will attempt to tweet at the same time on the same day with the #savepunisher hashtag. The goal of an official tweetfest is for the hashtag to trend on Twitter. These events are typically very organized and announced via the campaigns social media accounts.

Other Social Media

Social Media Etiquette

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when posting on social media:

  • Try to stay positive in your posts. Post about why you loved the show, the storylines, and the cast.

  • Include photos, gifs, or other media in your posts in order to draw attention to them.

  • Tag the targeted accounts listed above and stick to the two official campaign hashtags.

  • If you tag one of the cast members in your post remember to remain positive and polite.

  • When advertising the campaign make sure not to spam the person with multiple "official" posts.

Why Social Media is Important

It may seem insignificant however simply posting once or twice a day while using the campaign hashtags and tagging the appropriate accounts, can and will make a world of difference.

When creating these posts consider mentioning the following:

  • Why The Punisher was a great show

  • Why you miss the show

  • How we hope the show will be revived - not rebooted - as we want Bernthal back as Frank, the same R or M rating, and the same creative team. Especially considering they already had season 3 mapped out.
